Sunday Special: Madness Continued
Busted brackets and baseball is coming.
It’s March. The madness has begun and is in full swing this weekend.
The annual NCAA Tournament is one of my favorite events of the year when it comes to sports. It’s wall to wall basketball from 12pm to 12am from Thursday to Sunday.
As I’m typing this, Florida is playing Iowa (edited to add: the Gators ultimately lost). I have some rooting interest in this one because Florida is one of my final four teams. Duke, Arizona, and Michigan are the others with Duke coming out on top in my opinion. I know it’s rather dull and simple to pick all number one seeds, which they all are, but the every time I watched these teams play this year I felt each of them were the best team in the country. Because of that, they are the final four in my eyes.
Baseball is also starting this week and I could not be happier. Both of my fantasy baseball drafts are completed and both of my youth baseball teams are chosen. Practice starts next week and opening day is the weekend after Easter.
The Mets open up on Thursday against the Pirates. I will be going this year to join in the festivities. I am looking forward to seeing Paul Skenes pitch, and also looking forward to getting back to Citi Field.
On a personal note, I need to get back after it this week. Lots going on all over the place — work, kids, life — and I have been slacking recently with working out. Time to get back to it tomorrow morning.
Here’s to a good, productive week.
Until next time.
